Lynnie Davis was the princess of Delacour. Her sweet shyness won the hearts of its youth and adults alike; she was a girl's girl and a coquette, thoughtful, sweet, and not quite pretty enough to pose a threat. Her grades were very good; she was one of the very few young people in the small town to receive a scholarship to an Ivy League school. She was a cheerleader, a frequent volunteer and a good friend to everyone. Her long term romance with almost certain future pro-basketball player Mike Williams was almost legendary, and on the last day of their junior year, in the heat of June and the cool of the moonlit evening, he put a glittering diamond on her left finger. On the 21st of August, at a back-to-school party held in Jason Mackenzie's lakeside house, Lynnie bled to death, stark naked, in Jason's bed. An investigation ensued; the results were as suspected. Suicide. Now, days after putting one of their own in the ground for reasons unknown, the teenagers of Delacour return to school--many of them for their senior year. Lynnie Davis is gone from this place now, but her sisters and peers remain. With Delacour's princess far away from all of this, what will become of those who must stay? [/blockquote]
