Remus was strolling through the streets of Hogmeade. He was alone. He was feeling depressed. He looked at all the little shops he passed, each one filled with young wizards, so blissfully unaware of he danger that was looking straight at them. He couldnt bear to think like this anymore. He looked up. Then, like a sign from above, the sign for the three broom sticks pub caught his eye.
Now, Remus didnt usually manage his depression like this. But there was no else to talk to. So, he figured that maybe a good large pitcher of butter beer might be just the thing to put the spring back in his step. He approached the counter and asked the barkeep for his beverage. He then placed two galleons on the counter. He felt the cool beverage slide down his throat, and some of his troubles went with it.

Amanda laughed with Kaitlyn as they walked down the path to Hogsmeade joking around. She had on a pair of skinny jeans with a purple baby doll shirt on, with a pair of purple converse and a black gangster hat. Kaitlyn had been wearing a similar outfit, but a black shirt instead. People from all different houses were staring at them, but they didn’t mind. Amanda was used to it now. They joked around about Nic and Matthew and her leg, which was one of Kaitlyn’s funniest topics for her comedy. Reaching the village, Kaitlyn pulled Amanda into Honeydukes. Smiling, they bought loads of chocolate when they knew that they were both lactose intolerant. Kaitlyn and her left, having all the amusement as humanly possible.
Amanda and Kaitlyn still held up their little group ever since Matthew and Nic left. They still don’t have people coming up to them and trying to be friendly, not just because of Kaitlyn’s short temperedness, but also Amanda being part werewolf. Kaitlyn and Amanda started doing some random dancing, and goofing off, getting some weird looks from people. The two have had a weird relationship and everyone knew that. They continued their goofy dancing when some one had caught Amanda’s eye inside three broomsticks. She looked through the window and saw Remus Lupin sitting at the table, alone. After asking Kaitlyn if it was ok for her to leave her, Amanda smiled and walked in. through the window, she saw Kaitlyn walk in another direction.
Inside three broomsticks, there were many students, staring at her. She tipped her hat back and she smiled as she walked over to him. “hey there, stranger. What have you been up to?”

Remsu was enjoying the beverage as it slid down his throat. He then heard a voice as ask him in a cheerey manner what he had been up to. He turned around to see Amanda standing there smiling at him. No matter how much the people of the world would fear him and what he was, at least he would always know that Amanda would care for him no matter what, just as he would care for her. "Me? I havent been up to anything. Just stopping in for a drink for no reason. Thats all." He studied her. "Well, may I say that you look quite lovely in that quite stylish hat?" He said. Maybe just making small talk would also help rid him of this depression that had been plaguing him today.

Amanda smiled at him. She shook her head and she then asked him “well, no, what’s wrong?” she paused a moment. She looked at him curiously. “you know I can read faces, you look like something’s eating at you.” she paused again. “wow, did not like that phrase, remind me never to use it again.” she sighed. Amanda sat down next to him. Lupin tended to have these weird mood swings and she knew that. Amanda had gotten herself a butter beer and she took a sip again.
“why thank you.” Amanda laughed. “love hats. Kaitlyn is wearing the same one, you remember Kaitlyn, the one who never did homework and she seemed to be always angry…” Amanda started laughing. that’s what she loved about Kaitlyn, she was never afraid to say or do anything. She wasn’t afraid to stand up to anyone and do absolutely nothing when told to do something.

Remus sighed, once again, his daughter was reading him like an open book. "Well, guess I cant hide it well can I. Im just depressed about life in general. Especially with, well, my condition." Well, he was usually always at least a little depressed. It was kind of hard not to be when you turn in to a bloodthirsty creature and people hate you for it when they dont even know the real you. Wow, just thinking about that made him depressed again.
He took another sip of his butter beer, and watched as his daughter took a sip of hers. He watched is daughters smile as she pointed to her friend. He was glad that if he was going to be miserable, at least his child had something to be happy about.

“oh stop it. There is always the wolfsbane to help, sure it doesn’t cure, but you keep your humanity.” Amanda shrugged as she took another sip. She hated when he was like this. She liked him better when he was cheerful, when he taught them her third year. He seemed to be happy then, when she could guess he was still upset. “liven up a little. Why arent you venting to Sirius?” Amanda asked him, quiet enough so that the people around them wouldn’t hear. She took another sip of her butter beer. Amanda only sighed. She wanted to help him, but she didn’t really know how. She wasn’t full werewolf so she didn’t know what it was like.

Remus looked at his child as she tried to comfort him. "True, I have the potion, so I am still me when I change," he whispered to her. "But, others dont see me, they only see what I become, and they hate me for it." Times like this he was glad Amanda was not a full fledged werewolf, and he prayed that she never would become one.
"As for Sirius, I really havent heard much from him lately." He wondered what his old friend might be doing right now. "Plus, im sure a man on the run has more important things to do than listen to the rants of some guy." He took another cold sip from his drink.

Amanda sighed. “does it matter what other people think. Have you seen me and Kaitlyn?” Amanda laughed. She then said “besides, the scars, no one could tell.” Amanda shrugged laughing. She hoped he was in mood for a joke. She sighed. She took another sip of her butterbeer and she looked at him curiously.
“I thought you guys see each other all the time, being in the Order and all.” Amanda shrugged. She sort of ignored the last part. She took another sip and finished the butterbeer off.

She did sort of have a valid point. But it wasnt the exactly the same circumstances. People just looked wierdly at Amanda and her friend for dressing oddly or being really loud or something like that. People didnt just hate her before knowing her like many did to him. He heard her attempt at humor. As much as he did want to, he actually laughed at her little remark. She was getting to him.
"Just because we are both in the order doesnt mean we always see each other." he said to her. They always have an assignment for us. Assignments that can take us to far away places. After all, we dont just meet every week for tea and a chat."

Amanda looked at him in the awkward silence. She hated silences. She sighed. She looked at the empty bottle and she made a face. Amanda then looked at him and she then stated “well, its not just me and Kaitlyn they stare at, its when I am alone, outside in shorts and the leg is showing. I think its funny.” Amanda paused. She then added “its really funny when they try not staring at it. That makes me laugh.”
“yeah but when you guys have meetings you should see each other.” Amanda said. “that’s like saying Kaitlyn and I are in Gryffindor and we never see each other.”

He noded as Amanda spoke to him. Even though she was young, she still made many valid points, he really should try and see sirius more often at the meetings. No reason not to socialize, even if it is at a meeting for a magical order dedicated to stoping dark magic. He smiled, he was actually forgetting about why he even came to this place to begin with.
"Well," he said as he stood up, "I think all this sitting is making my legs fall asleep. Care for a stroll?" He reached out his arm for his daughter. Spending time with her always brightened his day.

“although, you wouldn’t really understand, because you have both of your legs.” Amanda joked laughing. “the worst part is when Kaitlyn takes it and runs. I have to hop to catch up to her. Isnt fun.” Amanda laughed. She knew he had found out about her leg when Nic, Matthew, Kaitlyn and her were messing around in the courtyard and she was wearing shorts. He had walked by them and saw her leg. She wasn’t going to tell him until a while after they had found out.
“sure.” Amanda smiled as she stood up and fixed her hat. She swung her bag over her shoulder and waited for him.

Remus saw that his daughter was ready to leave. He picked up his drink and saw that it was only half empty (or was it half full?) So, he turned it bottoms up and gulped down the remainder of the beverage. After about six seconds, he set down the empty glass and was quite impressed with himself on his drinking speed. Then, he laughed to himself as he realized that was probably something James would say.
He left the glass and grabbed his coat. He then walked over to where his daughter was waiting for him. "So," he asked her, "Are you ready to go?"

Amanda had started to the door when she realized that Lupin had stopped. She watched him chug the glass and she laughed. “don’t puke.” she remembered the chugging contests with Nic, Matthew and Kaitlyn and horrible those went. The most she had done, that she remembers was 2 two liter bottles of soda. She also remembered that she had a very upset stomach afterwards and puked her brains out, or her stomach up, as Nic would say.
Amanda nodded to his question and left three broomsticks with him. She looked around to see if Kaitlyn was anywhere in sight, but her cousin had been off doing her own thing. She knew Kaitlyn had another friend, one in ravenclaw and that was it. She knew people were afraid of Kaitlyn because of her temper. She only laughed at the thought. To her, Kaitlyn was sweet and loving, and like an older sister. “so where to?” she asked her father, standing right outside the building looking at all the witches and wizards standing and chatting with one another.

He watched the door close behind him as he steped out into the sunlight with his daughter at his side. He looked up into the sunlight as it warmed his skin. He looked back down towards Amanda and asked her, "So, is there any place you want to walk to? Or would you prefer to just stroll about the town? It makes no differance to me." He looked down at her. Right now, her happiness was all that mattered, because if she was happy, then he wuld be happy.
"Oh, and I also have to ask you one other thing," he said. "Tell me, how are your grades doing? Keeping up on all your studies I hope."
